Now...We are taking sign ups for the Fall league!!! there will be a high demand for subs to fill in. If you are interested e-mail us Bostonfoosball@gmail.com.
Week 1:
With both matches being tightly contested to the final 3 on 3 match. Team 4 (Yo, Ron M, and Dean) edged Team 3 (Chris, George, and Ken) 73 - 72 backed by Week 1 MVP Dean's performance. Team 1 was down 2 point to Team 2 through the first 3 rounds, but roared back with a dominating 7-2 performance in the 3 on 3 to win 72-67.
Week 2:
Two teams needed subs and the only person available was Kent so he jumped in for both teams. Players found out firsthand the burden of his massive handicap as their opponents both cruised to commanding victories. Team 1 beat Team 4 94-80 behind Week 2 MVP Luc's 56 point performance. Team 2 beat Team 3 by a narrower but still strong 85.5 to 76 margin, fueled by honorable mention Kris H.'s 55 point showing. Both players gained a full handicap point though, so let's see if they can repeat their performances next week.

Week 3:
What a wild week it was, with five different subs jumping into fill in for the busy regulars. Team 3 edged Team 1 by a narrow 75-71 margin with two stellar performances from their two subs, as well as the usual and consistent strong performance of Chris S. Team 4 barely squeezed by Team 2 with a 79-77 score. This was an intense battle as Week 3 co-MVPs Yo S and Ron L matched eachothers' 48 point performances. In the end experience was the difference, as long time league sub Dan P eclipsed complete newbie John D's showing by just 2 points. Congrats for a great effort from all teams this week!
Week 4:
What a difference a week can make. Perfect attendance after seeing 5 subs the previous week. However the results reflected the improvements of the most religious attendees, as the handicapped league awards improvement more than starting skill. Team 1 crushed Team 2 74-60 behind solid performances from all three players, while Team 3 cruised to a 78-70 victory behind Week 4 MVP Chris S's outstanding performance. Keep it up, fellas!

Week 5:
We saw some big performances by several players this week, with 3 players achieving a perfect 49 in raw points. Week 5 MVP went to guest star Matt P, who came in with a 10 handicap and still somehow managed to improve his handicap by a full point. As a result, Team 3 were able to defeat Team 2 by a 75.5-67 margin. In the other match we had yet another strong showing from all 3 players on Team 1 as they were able to get by Team 4 82-75. Special kudos goes to Brendon F who jumped in at the last second to sub for Team 4 and contributed an outstanding 48 point performance.

Week 6:
An exciting season came to its conclusion this week with all 4 teams still having a shot at gold. However only one team stood out... in the wrong direction, to fall from second place to fourth place in the final week as Week 5 MVP Matt P couldn't repeat his performance in leading(?) his team to a 53-79 defeat. Team 1 benefited though by locking up each member's first league championship! Congrats to Luc S, Ted M, and Mike P for a great season. In the consolation match, despite a heroic performance from Team 2's all sub team, they only managed to move up to 3rd place and one of the money. Team 4 hung on for a 2nd place finish.
Playoff Week:
The playoff week was full of upsets, as regular season champs Team 1 failed to show their form and ended with two losses. After two tightly contested matches, Team 4 ended up prevailing in the end. Congrats to Dean C, Yo S, and Ron M for taking the playoff championship home!
End of Season Awards:
League MVP: Luc S
Best Sportsmanship: Yo S
Best Sub: Brendon F

Come check out the foosball league at Big City Bar & Grill in Allston! We are taking sign-ups for new individuals and full teams for the fall foosball league.
Leagues are a fun, relaxed way to get introduced to some fun people and a great game. The league is fully handicapped, and skill ranges from complete beginners to competitive tournament players.
Here’s How The League Works:
Each team is composed of 4 players, who will each play in 7 games a night - (5 doubles, 1 singles, and 1 four-on-four)
Each game is played as a "race to 7" (first team to 7 points wins, no win by two.) After the raw outcome of the game is decided, a handicap spot will be added based on the difference in handicap between the two competing teams.
The winning team is the team with most points after the net result - real points + handicap points are added.
Total points from all games are tallied to determine the winner of each week, and total points from the whole season determine the standings at the end.
Handicaps are adjusted weekly based on the previous week’s results. We are always looking for substitute players, we always have teams looking for extra players both on a permanent basis and week by week.
So if you can't commit to a league each week but still want to play please sign-up as a sub. The cost is $5/week/player for full time players, the full amount of which is distributed in the form of prizes and awards at the end of the season.
We ask that league dues are paid in full by the 3rd week of the season. Typically the 1st place team receives 2 to 3 times their entry fees back as a prize. The season usually last about 6 to 10 weeks depending on the size of the league. There is a bar kick-in for additional prizes at the end of the season as well.
